As Site Deputy Manager at Vineyard Wind, the first utility-scale offshore wind energy project in the US, Sharon’s leadership skills and innovative problem-solving have been critical to the project’s success.
In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, we celebrate Sharon Stukalo, a proven leader making her mark on the energy industry. Sharon’s leadership and organizational skills have been instrumental in delivering on the project’s goals while maintaining the highest safety standards. Her dedication to ensuring successful project deliveries has set a benchmark for excellence in the energy sector.
Sharon oversees all aspects of the project, including safety, health, environmental compliance, and operational execution. Her team has achieved an outstanding safety record, recently surpassing two million work hours without a lost-time incident.
Prior to joining Vineyard Wind, Sharon’s passion for safety led her to earn an Undergraduate Degree in Grid Technology and a Master’s Degree in Construction Management with a focus on Safety and Health. Sharon’s path to success hasn’t been without obstacles; as a child, she was placed in foster care, and she has overcome many challenges along the way. As Sharon says:
“My experience in the Marines and education taught me to push through obstacles and find opportunities to achieve more.”

As we reflect on Sharon Stukalo’s remarkable accomplishments and leadership in the energy industry during International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, it’s also worth noting that outside of work, she is committed to building her family. Sharon is currently in the process of adopting a 12-year-old girl from foster care, a life-changing process which she hopes to complete this summer. This demonstrates her dedication to making a positive impact not just in her professional life, but also in her personal life.
