Kochi Metro Project Phase 1A inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister of India

Linxon goes one step ahead with the commitment to carbon-free energy – Kochi project Phase 1A formally inaugurated.

The transportation segment in India has tremendous potential and Linxon is a pioneer for rail substation applications. In August 2020, Linxon bagged the order for Kochi Metro Project Phase 1A and 1B. On September 1, 2022, Phase 1A was inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi in the presence of the Chief Minister of Kerala state.

Now that Phase 1A is officially under commercial operation, this project truly defines Linxon’s vision of “from the grid to vehicle” in the transportation segment. We are helping to reduce the commute time as well as the carbon emissions on road due to less vehicular traffic.

The supply from Linxon includes auxiliary and traction transformers, DC circuit breakers, rectifiers, batteries, chargers as well as 4 kilometers of 750 DC third rail. Linxon is delivering the full engineering, procurement, and construction for this prestigious project.

The stations under Phase 1A, Vadakekotta, and S.N. Junction are now linked with the other 22 stations of Phase 1 and will immensely help the mass commuters of Kochi. Phase 1A also marks the first operation of 750 DC Third Rail done under the leadership of Linxon India Pvt. Ltd. Phase 1B is under execution.
